March 26 marked an important night for the American theater — the Broadway debut of Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lynn Nottage. Her new drama Sweat, directed by Kate Whoriskey at Studio 54, looks at the lives of several blue-collar workers who are faced with dire situations as their factory starts to outsource jobs. On opening night, TheaterMania spoke with the cast and creative team to discuss why it is important to shine a theatrical light on this topic, and what it means for all of them to be part of this play.
